  • Yes! The Ferndale Food Bank (EIN #(EIN #91-1166240) is a 501(c)3 non profit and all donations are tax-deductible.

  • You can donate online or by check. To donate online, go to our Giving Page. To donate via check, make it out to Ferndale Food Bank and send to:

  • Yes, we use a third party donation platform that utilizes the most advanced industry-standard encryption technology and security. Payments are processed through PCI-compliant partners, where funds are securely held until they are withdrawn via bank transfer. We do not have access to donor credit card information, and we take every measure to protect the personal information of users on our site.

  • Yes! All donations to the food bank are tax deductible. When you make a donation, if we have your email address, you should receive a transaction record that same day. We typically send out donation summary receipts for the previous year by the end of January. If we don’t have your email address, we will send the receipt by mail. If you want a receipt and are unsure if we have a sending address for you OR if you want your receipt earlier, contact director@ferndalefoodbank.org.

  • We of course are grateful for donations in all forms, but financial donations allow a couple things:

    1. We can buy what we need most at the moment.

    2. We purchase in bulk from producers at wholesale prices, allowing us to stretch the dollar a bit further than purchasing food at grocery store prices. 

  • For more information on food donations, including most needed items and drop off times, see our Give Food page. We generally do not accept donations of non-food items but will refer you to some of our awesome non-profit partners like the Ferndale Community Resource Center

  • Absolutely. When you give online, you will have the option to “Add note/comment” in our donation platform. Select this option and include your dedication in this section. We will make sure this is noted in the record of the gift. If you are giving via check, write your dedication in the “Memo” section and we will record this in the record of the gift. 

  • Maybe! Many companies in the area and nationally match non-profit giving. Check with your company on how they go about this and what they need to make the match. We can send proof of donation if needed, or, if you give online, you will receive a transaction summary document.   • We typically send out tax receipts and giving histories for the previous year in January. If you need this sooner, or want a more extensive giving history (beyond the previous calendar year) reach out to director@ferndalefoodbank.org

  • All donations go to making the food bank run, including things like food purchasing, gas and maintenance for our grocery rescue and delivery programs, and volunteer training. For more information on how we use our resources, see our Annual Report. If you want your donation to go to a specific program or resource, include a note in your gift or reach out to director@ferndalefoodbank.org
